Cingular Cell Phone Double Billing - Flint MI office

 

Cingular is in the process of messing up my credit by trying to collect twice on an account.

 

On 9/16/03 I paid my balance of 294.37 after moving to Florida and moving my phone service to their Orlando office. Prior to paying on my credit card I'd tried to negotiate the transfer of this very balance to be paid off over time. I was told no way, this could not be done and was threatened with collections.

 

Immediately after my payment was made and following the receipt of a closing statement of balance from this campany, a mysterious charge appeared as a balance brought forward on my Orlando account. It was the very balance that could not have been transferred, which was now somehow mysteriously transferred, NOTE: AFTER IT HAD BEEN PAID AND THE DEBT SETTLED.

 

I have spent the better part of two months trying to resolve this matter. Just today I received a statement threatening to send my account (the one previously paid) to collectors. I'm looking forward to an interesting day in Court as I have secured all the evidence of the payment of this bill.

 

Frankly, I think Cingular's handling of this matter stinks and reveals rank ineptitude of its staff.
