RE: Expedia - called 1-800 Expedia to book car and hotel room - Hertz car rental problem - The Continental Inn, Lexington, KY room reservation problem Last week I needed to go to Lexington Ky. On an emergency. I used the search engine on MSN.com to book flight from Ontario, Ca. To Lexington, KY. Expedia.com booking ID:3NBMH6(1) For a court appearance to retrieve my daughters.

After being dumped repeatedly by the web page at Expedia (I used MSN Passport to sign in) I called 1 800 Expedia, and booked & confirmed my round trip flights, a rental car from Hertz Expedia.com booking ID: 3NAsss& Hertz confirmation number: C372141ssss, and a room for 2 nights at The Continental Inn in Lexington, all on Expedia.com's itinerary number 1819654ssss .

Upon arriving in Lexington, Hertz refused to rent the car to me (Emily at the counter) citing first Expedia had never booked it (I have confirmation affirmation), then telling me my VISA card was unacceptable, even though B of A stands behind it.

I took a cab to the hotel, the front desk denied being faxed by Expedia to make my reservation, I loaned her my printed confirmation from Expedia, and checked into the (dirty) room #144. About a half hour later, she called, asking me to come to the front desk, which I did. "I called them at Expedia.com" she told me, "spoke with Martina, she said you cancelled your reservation, and they're charging an additional $25 on your credit card".

I asked the Manager if it made sense to go to a hotel expecting a room after I cancelled my reservation? She laughed, and offered me the room for $79 per night. When I refused, citing the difference between $39 the first of 2 nights, and $40 the second (Expedia's price), she relented, allowing me to stay for $59 per night, "Corporate Rate".

What she didn't tell me about, was that the bar in the hotel lets a rock band play all night from mid-week through the weekend. I got my girls, spent a sleepless night in the hotel, took a cab to the airport back to California, where United lost all of our luggage, with my medication. Go ahead, call 1 800 Expedia, "I dare you" !!
