I purchased a 2003 Ford Explorer in June/July 2003, at the price of $31,000.00. There is a severe gear problem in the rear end of the vehicle, an intermittent, banging noise with a back-end shifting after a little gas from a complete stop or pullinng out of a parking space.
A mechanic friend suggested a problem in the "spider gears." The banging is getting more frequent. I've taken it back to the Winner Ford dealership in Cherry Hill, New Jersey two times and the response is "We can't fix what we can't hear or see".
I've paid $31,000 dollars for a defective vehicle which Ford refuses to acknowledge, let alone fix. I'm seriously considering taking my case to a lawyer or complaint to the Attorney General's Office. Gail Robison
