My boyfriend and I went to Sears at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester, NH on November 12, 2003, to price refrigerators. We found one that we liked and we planned to purchase it in a week or so. The next day while going through the mail, we came across a flyer advertising a 10% sale.

We thought that was wonderful since we had already found the refrigerator we wanted, so we decided to buy it that weekend to catch the sale. Well, don't you know, when we went back on the first day of the sale, the prices had been increased by 10%!!

We asked the salesperson why this had happened, and he replied simply that every time they have a promotion, they increase the prices by that much so they don't lose any money.

We thought to be absolutely absurd and extremely misleading. We bought our refrigerator somewhere else, cut up our Sears card, and suggest everyone else do the same until this is put to an end. Melanie Frezzette
