RE: AT&T Wireless - charged $ 61 for roaming charges for calls not completed

I went to a family picnic at the San Angelo State Mental School to visit my 78 year old aunt who has lived at the home since she was 12. I rented cabins for her brother and sisters across from the home so they could have a family reunion.

They all were in their 70's. Because of the remote location and the age of the family I was with my husband tried to call me via his cell phone to make sure all was well.

This was from Oct 3rd until I left on Oct 5th. I had to only key to the park and everyone was supposed to call me when they got there to come open the gate to let them into the park. All different cell phone companies. No one was able to reach me by phone. (Mine was a Verizon) My phone did not ring, say missed called, or that a message was left. Texas is big and this must have been one of the dead zones.

When I received my husbands AT&T cell bill I was charged $61.00 for roaming charges all though my phone never rang. You can tell by the seconds that I did not use the phone.

AT&T said you are charged as soon as your phone rings. (My Phone Never Rang or showed a missed call.) I paid $61.00 for service I did not get, and in an emergency could not get.

I paid the bill but will never use AT&T in any service, or product again and thought others should know how this company deals with their customers. This is not my only problem I have ever had with them, but the most outrageous.

As an additional note, my sister works at a bank and said there are more dispute's against AT&T then any other cell company.

Thank you for letting my have a chance to tell the shame of a company that hounds you to do business with them.
