I BOUGHT A PDA FROM BEST BUY ALONG WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS PDA IT WAS A MODEL THAT WAS BEEN REPLACED, SO I ASKED THE STORE CLERK WHAT DID THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL DO IN THE CASE THAT THE PDA COULD NOT BE REPAIRED, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE REPLACED BY A SIMILAR MODEL.
ONE MONTH AFTER I PURCHASED THIS PDA IT BROKE WHILE I WAS IN THE BEST BUY STORE, THEIR REPAIR DEPARTMENT SAID THAT IT COULD BE REPLACED AND THE STORE CLERK GAVE ME A MODEL EQUAL TO THE ONE I HAD. WHEN I WENT TO CHECK OUT THEY INFORM ME THAT THEY HAD TO CHARGE ME FOR THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE ONE THAT I PURCHASED WAS HEAVILY DISCOUNTED.
WHEN I PURCHASED THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY I WAS NOT TOLD ANYTHING ABOUT HAVING TO PAY SO WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE STORE MANAGER HE SAID PAY THE DIFFERENCE OR LEAVE WITH YOUR BROKEN PDA.
I CONTACTED BEST BUY OFFICES AND THEY SAY THAT THE ONLY THING THEY CAN DO IS TO GIVE ME BACK A REFUND FOR THE PDA ONLY, BUT NOT FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY [$70.00] OR ANY OF THE OTHER ACCESORIES I BOUGHT FOR IT.
DAYS AFTER THE PROBLEM WITH BEST BUY I WAS IN CONN'S STORE IAND I MENTIONED TO THE CLERK THAT I WAS NOT INTERESTED IN EXTENDED WARRANTIES ANYMORE, WHEN HE ASKED WHY I EXPLAINED ABOUT BEST BUY INCIDENT, HE TOLD ME TO BRING BY THE PDA.
I DID AND THEY REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE EVEN THOU I DID NOT PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY.
MY FEELING IS THAT BEST BUY EXTENDE WARRANTY IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER IS WRITTEN ON
