RE: AOL - cancellation process was annoying - endured 10 minutes of hard sell in order to cancel account I just got off the telephone with Veronica at AOL. I was trying to unsubscribe and felt as if I were dealing with a used car salesman.
My first clue should have been that AOL itself does not make customer service numbers easy to acesss.....I found it on another website, apparently AOL doesn't want to be bothered with customer complaints. These people are excessively pushy.
They talk over you and make it almost impossible to be polite. The cancellation process was annoying, inexcusable, and just plain obnoxious.
I would sell my computer rather than use AOL to access the internet. I have had less annoying sales pitches from telemarketers........ these people are just plain obnoxious and annoying. It took me ten minutes of arguing at which point I had to remind Veronica that I was the customer and I did not want to purchase anything.
Finally after ten minutes of hard sell she condescended to me and agreed to cancel my membership. This was the most unpleasant experience I have had with a sales rep in many , many months.............sheesh,
God Bless competition these folks need to be reminded that the customer, even if cancelling a service, are right and not to be dealt with in such a shoddy manner.
