1-800 Call Collect - MCI - charged $ 91 for 73 minute collect call

RE: 1-800 Call Collect - MCI - charged $ 91 for 73 minute collect call Recently I used 1-800 Call Collect to call home while out of town. I spoke for 73 minutes and have now been billed 91.00. After using this service one time for one call, a block was placed on my phone because

MCI could not bill my phone company, this block prohibited me from making collect calls.

It really isn't a problem because I usually don't, the problem is that I was billed this ludicrous amount of money for this one call. I was contacted by MCI to set up an account in order that I could be billed, they couldn't talk to me without setting up this account nor could they bill me.

Once I set up the account I called to discuss this enormous amount and was passed around the phone line for quite some time. I informed them that there is absolutely no evidence on the televised commercial that 1-800 Call Collect is an MCI subsidiary, or that the rates are increased enormously from normal rates.

I was informed that MCI is a billing company for Telecom and they cannot do anything about the rates. Doesn't it seem wrong to charge 91.00 for one phone call?
