The sears store we deal with is in the Paddock Mall in Ocala Florida, but the Central Air-conditioning sales are handled via in-home sales and service. The number is 1-800-469-4663 [800-4MY-HOME]. The unit has finally been repaired since I wrote the letter, but we are still out over $400 for the window unit we had to purchase to get us by and there is the matter of the 24-hour guarantee. Sears worthless next-day central AC service guarantee - Day 18 and counting
I dont know where to turn to for help so I am turning to you. I dont even know how to express my total disgust and fury with Sears. We purchased a new central air conditioning unit in 1999 and bought a 5 year service agreement that guaranteed next day repairs. So far, next day has been next 18 days and counting. Even though this is happening in October and November, this is Florida. We have seen 11 days with temperatures over 85 and two mornings with temperatures below 62 inside the house. We have had to purchase a window air conditioner just to be able to survive in the house. This is something Sears, themselves, should have offered. The handling of this situation has been ridiculous and I seem to have no available help other than that which Sears will not offer. About the only thing I can offer you for information is this timeline of the problem. I beg your help.
