RE: AT&T Wireless - billed $ 15 "upgrade processing charge" to buy replacement phone Upgrade Charge: I had to replace my phone after my husband put ours through the washer and dryer. The model I had was discontinued and I bought the closest available model. My first bill included an upgrade processing charge of 15.00. I called customer service and she was like a robot just kept repeating "it is company policy" could not explain why. I said that is like being charged $15.00 to enter a JC Penney store to buy their merchandise. It does not make sense... charge you to bill you????
