After removing all hardware in the Briggs toilet tank, I replaced them with the Fluidmaster hardware. It works ok, but the two bolts holding the tank on the seat are leaking.

According to ACE hardware who sold me a bolt kit requiring a nut and washer between the tank and seat and a wingnut at the bottom of the seat. It includes rubber/fiber washers.

I don't want to tighten the bolts any more then I have already. That may crack the porcelain. What would you recommend to do to stop the leaking.

Plumbers at Home Depot stated that it should work and could not recommend any further solutions.
