I would like to share my recent experiences with the Orkin Company located in Chesterfield, MI. (46413 Continental Dr. Chesterfield, MI 48047. (586)949-6690. I have never been so surprised at such poor customer service, and such a lack of desire to correct the problems. Quite frankly, I do not think they want my service! Below outlines my experiences with Orkin. History of events: 1) Friday, 9-6-02 - Orkin came on a Friday to deliver services. However, my contract was for services to be rendered on a Saturday. The invoice has the Saturday, 9-7-02 crossed out and the sixth written in. 2) I called the following week, and asked for it to be rescheduled. I spoke to Customer service. She had it rescheduled for 9/14 between 8:00am-11:00am. 3) On Saturday, 09-14-02, no one showed up. 4) I called again the following week (9-18-02) and spoke with same Customer Service person again. She rescheduled it for 9-21-02 between 8:00am-11:00am. This time she promised to talk to the manager to ensure we would have someone come out. 5) On Saturday, 09-21-02, no one showed up. 6) I called again the following week on 9-24-02 and spoke with sameCustomer Service person. She said that she would give my request to talk to a manager and he would call me back. 7) He never called me back. 8) I called again on 9-27-2002 and finally got a hold of a service manager. He agreed to release me from my contract, with no obligation to the 60% remaining on the contract. He also agreed that I would not have to pay for the problem visit. He refused to send me anything in writing to show he released me from my contract. 9) About 2 weeks later, I received a bill for the service visit. I ignored it, thinking it may have automatically been sent out prior to my discussion with the manager. However, a few weeks later, I received another bill. 10) That Saturday, 11-2-02 while we were out of the house we received a service visit from Orkin!!! 11) I called on 11-4-02, spoke with a different manager. I expressed my concerns regarding receiving a bill for a service that was agreed that I would not pay. I also expressed my concern for the Orkin service visit I received. He was short and stated that I should write on my bill that I need not pay, and he would take care of it. Terri Kulak
