Wal-Mart, Lexington, SC - charged for Tire Proction Plan and to have valve stems replaced without being notifed of these charges in advance - want money refunded

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on November 3, 2002:

From: RE: Wal-Mart, Lexington, SC - charged for Tire Proction Plan and to have valve stems replaced without being notifed of these charges in advance - want money refunded Sent on 10.25 , 10.31 On 10.24.02 I purchased 4 tires at the Wal-Mart. The price of each tire was $47.96 + Tire Fee of #2.00 which comes to $49.96 + 5% tax per tire. I was NOT told or asked if I wanted the Tire protection Plan ($8.01 Per Tire + 5% Tax) or to have the valve stems replaced ($1.75 + $0.75 Disposal Fee + 5% Tax) The subtotal was $241.88 + 5% tax $9.94 for a total of $251.82. I wasn't told about the Tire Protection plan or the valve stem replacement. If I were made aware of them I would have not excepted the offer. I would have refused the Protection Plan and the Value stem replacement if not needed. I believe that this was done without me being aware of this charge or service being done and I find that Wal-Mart has practiced deception in this matter.
