MTNL phone service, New Delhi, India - phone not repaired for the last month

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on November 20, 2002:

RE: MTNL phone service, New Delhi, India - phone not repaired for the last month our telephone has been lying idle for the last one month inspite of repeated complaints.nothing has been done till date.a new complaint is given everyday on the computerized complaint cell.the complaint nos are 293(05/11/02),99(08/11/02)176(14/11/02)197(18/11/02)..

the lineman comes to attend to the complaint and after an hour or so we are back to square one.the phone is dead again.and when we complain again they say theres some problem in the exchange and nothing can be done.

what the hell are we paying the rent for?the phone bill is never delayed.how come its only these complaints that are never taken care of?and you never forget to take the money for your so-called-service?please help.
