Laurel, DE 19956 HELP!!!! I am writing to get guidance on how to correct a situation with my credit report, specifically information that is being reported by Experian, PO Box 9595, Allen, TX 75013. I went to closing for my mortgage in February 2001 and on the credit report it indicated that there was a person with the name the same as mine, with a different social security number had a judgement and other delinquent information attached to my credit report. I contacted them in March of 2001 and they stated that they researched the problem, but nothing was accomplished. After several attempts, they told me that the it had been corrected. I was informed that it was replaced on my credit report latter and I tried once again to get this corrected. I contacted Experian, and the customer service representative informed that it was my responsibility to contact the Sussex County Court house to get a letter that the judgment was indeed not my responsibility. I did as was requested, the Court House customer service representative informed me that it was not my judgement, but that they could not provide a letter to correct the situation. In October 2002, I applied for a home equity loan and once again it is on my credit report and has now affected my adversely, as the loan was disapproved. The customer service representative from he company, became a little disheartening when they told me, that I should just pay my debts. However, I tried to explain that it was not my debt once more after about dozen times. I even provided them a letter that I mailed to the Experian, in October. I sought guidance from a representative from the credit union that we are member. I followed instructions that I should send them a letter, certified which I did and to date nothing has been accomplished. I was them informed that I should contact a lawyer to get assistance in getting this matter resolved. I have called several lawyers and couldn't find one that would assist me in bringing this problem to resolution. I did try sending a complaint on-line to the better business beaura but the screen that came back was that they do not accept complaints for this company. So I am trying to get some guidance as to whom, I should contact. I would greatly appreciate you assistance in guiding me through the actions necessary to get this credit report corrected. Thank you Charles R. Mumford
