Date: Tuesday, November 27, 2001 09:48 AM Dear Cooper Automotive: a consumer posted the following e-message at Complaints.com. I purchased a set of 8 Champion 4018-2 sparkplugs at AutoZone ON 9-29-98. These plugs have a 3 year unlimited milage warranty. I had to replace the plugs on 11-22-01 because of backfiring, poor idle, and loss of power. The plugs had 22,000 miles on them.I have the old plugs and the receipt from AutoZone dated 9-29-98 in the amount of $21.31 for the plugs.

I also have a receipt from Discount Auto Parts dated 11-23-01 for 8 SF2E SplitFire Spark Plugs @ $3.99 each or a total of $31.92 plus tax to replace the defective plugs.

I am requesting that Cooper honor their warranty and refund me in the amount of $19.92 plus $1.39 sales tax a total of $21.31 for the defective spark plugs. Thank you,

James Kelly
