Wal-Mart poor treatment in the layaway
Bad Treatment in the Layaway Wal-Mart From: Date: Monday, November 19, 2001 10:43 AM I needed to purchace a T.V. the other day and since Walmart is close I went there. I wanted to buy it and take the receipt to my T.V. serviceman so he could pick up the set and bring it to my house to hook it up to my sattelite system. Well, this was a no-no at Walmart.
You can't leave a "paid for" item in the store for even a few hrs. I was finally told that I could lay it away and come back with my service man to pick it up. I agreed to do this so I went to the layaway dept. There, I must say, I was given all the correct info and the clerk was efficient, but very unfriendly. When we picked up the T.V. my repairman comented, "You just gave her a large check and not even a thank-you."
And this is very true...I get this kind of treatment in various places, and I think I have hit the wall with it. Walmart and other stores need to make their employees aware of how important customer relations are.
If there are rules that have to be followed, explain it to the customer with an apology for the inconvenience, and never let that customer go without a Thankyou.
