RE: Casio Repair Division, Dover, NJ - Casio Watch DW 5600 sent for repair was lost by Casio In April of 2003, I sent a DW 5600 watch to the Casio Repair Division in Dover NJ, to be repaired. I received a bill for $30.00. I sent payment which was recieved by Casio (they cashed the check). I was then sent the wrong watch a few weeks later.
I returned that watch, shipping at my expense. I contacted Casio customer service. A customer service rep named Jake Griffin handled my initial complaint. He acknowledged that my watch had been lost, provided me with copies of internal company emails confirming this and....I recieved what was described as a replacement watch several days later.
If I wanted a replacement watch, I would have spent the extra $25.00 for a brand new one. Now, I have a 'replacement watch', for $30.00 plus shipping and handling costs and a bunch of aggrevation. I advised Jake Griffin this was not acceptable. He referred me to his supervisor Effie Bozak.
I wrote her a letter along with the appropriate documents related to my lost watch. It was ignored. I checked with casio on 05-29-03. I was advised by a different customer service rep named, Michael, that there was a note next in my case file that showed a $2.22 refund was issued to me on 05-22-03.
Usually the little guy, (me and us consumers) lose in these situations. Not this time, Casio is the loser. I represent a global supplier of products which has sold millions. I have decided not to carry any Casio products and I will not until Casio does something to fix a broken customer service department.
