Aiwa CD changer - purchased in 2000 - stopped working - missed supposed deadline for claim

Dear Sir: I bought my CD changer in 2000 - it started giving me trouble immediately after but i thought maybe the CD's were faulty - but soon it stopped working altogether. I was busy and did not get around to taking it back .

Now I learn that ther ewas a settlement reached with Aiwa and the deadline for claims was May 1, 2003. I just found all this out today - May 19, 2003. Does anyone have any idea what my rights are?
