Vartech - $ 11.00 billed last month in surcharges that did not agree to

Both my daughter and I have dropped Vartech as our long distance carrier because they tacked on over $11.00 in our last month billing for surcharges, etc that we had not agreed on and apparently were rectroactive. Our plan was for 50 cent minimum and 5 cents per minute. Nothing more and nothing less. To add $11 on top of the 50 cent minimum is a disgrace and all should fight this.

Neither of us were ever able to use the vartech card when traveling. There was always an excuse but never any resolution in over 5 years that we used this service.

Based on my experience, be prepared for a VERY LONG WAIT if you dare to care their customer service. With this kind of service and care for their customers I don't expect they will last as a long distance carrier much longer.

Especially since there are others that charge 39 cents minimum and 3 cents per minute anywhere in the USA, Canada and Western Europe.
