I just want to make other consumers aware of the Tango credit policy. As a purchaser of a travel ticket for a child you are not entitled to a credit of your account should you wish to make any changes to that person's flight. The only benefactor of this credit will be the person who's name is on the ticket.

West Jet, who has the same credit policy, does allow the purchaser of the ticket to retain the credit for future travel.

When I lodged this complaint with a manager of Tango, I was told that their policy is clearly defined on the booking web site. It reads:

Value of unused tickets can be applied within a one year period from date of issue of the original ticket subject to a $25.00CAD/$20.00USD cancellation fee. The customer's credit card will be billed upon completion of the booking process.

This however only applies to the person flying not the consumer who purchased the ticket. I was told to get my money back from my child even though they can not use the ticket at a later date.

Live and learn- Tango is not the same as West Jet

In my opinion, never book with Tango or Air Canada unless you can foresee the future and guarantee the passenger's plans.
