RE: AOL - have unsuccessfully tried to cancel AOL membership for almost 6 months - continue to receive charges Dear all, I want to complaint about AOL's poor customer service and their deceitful practices of billing with me. I had tried to cancel my AOL membership for almost half a year now. At first they told me they would give me two month free and then cancel my subscription. After two months i have found out the credit card was charged again. Their excuses was I did not call back to cancel the membership...which i was not informed I had to do so. So i was charge for a service I did not use.
Furthermore, they told me I can not cancel it because the account wasn't under my name, so i had to change that information. Today, I called to cancel my account, they told me it's ONE day late of the billing date and they had charged the credit card already. They said they can not do anything for me, a customer of a 4-5 years. I'm sure they can credit my account, they just didn't want to.
Therefore, I was charged a second time for a service I will not use. Their customer service center is horrible. They severely lack knowledge of what customer service should be. I strongly suggest all current users to canel their aol account. They are not worth your time and money. For twenty something dollars a month...you can definitely get better internet service...and better customer service. We all deserve to be treated with upmost dignity and respect as a customer.
