Mr. Coffee coffee maker Model UN13 - requires cleaning about every six weeks

RE: Mr. Coffee coffee maker Model UN13 - requires cleaning about every six weeks

In June of 2001, I purchased a Mr. Coffee coffee maker, Model UN13. Since that time, I have had to clean the maker on a regular basis with vinegar. I have lived in the same house for over 26 years in the Denver metro area and have never had to clean a coffee maker before.

The source of water for my area has always been snow melt and shouldn't be considered "hard water". Is there a design flaw in the UN13, which requires regular cleaning about every six weeks? I am at the point that I will soon be purchasing a replacement coffee maker and I don't think that it will be any model of Mr. Coffee. Leo Kinney
