RE: American Blind and Wallpaper Co (DecorateToday.com) - Blinds ordered - shipped after promised date On April 19th I ordered 2 wood blinds from www.decoratetoday.com. There was an advertising header stating 2 Wood Blinds Shipped in 3 days or FREE!. Since I was completing a project and these were needed, I purchased the blinds. The blinds were not shipped until April 30th, a full 6 days after the order was received. I double-checked the web site, and I noticed that there was suspicious fine print which stated Allow 1 additional day to process. Weekend and holidays not included. Subject to material availability.
I was suspect, as they were already placing promises and then changing the rules in the fine print. Anyway, this did not seem to apply as they still went several days beyond their promise. I called on April 30th and they were supposed to have reversed the charges.
Of course, this never happened. I just got off of the phone with them this morning (May 28th) and they are only willing to offer 50% off as they say that the 3 days are from when the order was received from the manufacturer. Of course, since they did not meet their commitment, they are not claiming any responsibility. I stated that I have placed a claim with my credit card, and I have all printouts of the documentation including the original shipping documentation.
I have given them the opportunity to correct the problem as per their promise and since they do not believe in business ethics, I would let other consumers know along with continuing to dispute the charge through the credit card agency. They stated that they would send the claim to a Vice-President for review, but as a Supervisor, there was nothing that they could do. I would sincerely consider whether you could expect other promises made from this organization to be believable. Consider whether you want to support a business with such poor business ethics!!! They would swindle every customer they could and would fire you if you did not abide by their swindling ways. Since I worked here from the age of 19 - 26 this is what I thought corporate America was, I was trully mistaken not I work for a fortune 500 company where we really care for our customers.
