RE: Alamo Rental Car in Ontario CA Airport - unknowingly was charged for towing and storage of car in accident - an accident that wasn't the consumer's fault My husand and I were in CA on vacation and had an Alamo Rental Car. We got the car on Thursday, for a week, and on Sunday were involved in an accident, which the other person was sited for, as we were hit in the rear end.

The CHP officer was very nice and told us not to worry about anything, it was not our fault. We did not want another rental car, and I had already paid for the week.

So that week's rental fee was deducted from my checking account. After I got home, Alamo had billed my check card for an additional $457.00, which more than drained my account. When I called them they stated that was the fee for towing and storage on the wrecked vehicle and I would have to settle that with the driver of the other car that was at fault.

You can't tell me this is fair. Especially when they just took the money from my account without my knowledge. So, all I can say is be careful when renting a car.
