RE: Inphonic - received SPAM pitch - filled out form - ensuing trouble

Hi Everyone, I’m posting this complaint (edited) ...to and save other souls from being scammed I get a spam pitch from Inphonic. Fill out form for a phone through Verizon. No phone arrives, no email comes. So, I call. I’m told that I was not eligible to receive the phone. I go fine, it was an impulsive buy and I’m happy that it was not consummated. All of sudden a package shows up. I don’t open since I don’t have any idea what it is. Finally, I find out it’s the phone I wasn’t getting with service from Worldcom (which took me about 3 weeks to find out). Anyways, Inphonic decided to send me the phone, collect their $35 CPA from whomever, and pocket a little bit more since they sent me a defective phone. I write to them asking them why I have the phone when they said my order was cancelled, not to mention a broken phone. What’s there answer? None. Inphonic and other such companies are outright scammers not concerned with anything but the immediate sale, and collecting email addresses. The only way they will be stopped is if we as consumers start to turn away from this email spamming, make a quick buck companies. Sincerely, Paul
