RE: Seaman's furniture - Frequent damaged furniture delivery for 6 months and unable to get refund

I wrote a letter to the ceo of seamans on February 18, 2002. In reference furniture purchased in Nov 2001 for christmas, still in possession of damaged furniture for 6 months after constant deliveries of damage furniture, Now they never responded to the below letter, and I've been dealing with the presidential hot line, they will not pick up the furniture and give me a refund on taxes and delivery after dealing with this for 6 month. They say I HAVE NO OPTIONS JUST REPAIR, OR RESELECTION. I THINK 6 MONTHS OF REDELIVERIES IS ENOUGH.

DO NOT SHOP AT SEAMANS, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO REFUNDS, AND YOU'LL BE DEALING WITH PROBLEMS FOR MONTHS. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU PURCHASE THE FURNITURE AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT, BETTER ORDER IT A YEAR IN ADVANCE-- BELOW IS A COPY OF THE LETTER MAILED TO THE CEO OF SEAMANS OF FEB 18, 2002. I NEVER RECEIVED A REPLY AND IT WAS SENT CERTIFIED

CEO OF SEAMANS-

I am writting this letter to resolve an on-going unacceptable situation that I've been put in and I've had to deal with since the purchase of new furniture from seaman's on november 2001. I am extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with this recent purchase from seamans. I am hoping that you can help me to resolve this matter as soon as possible. The following is a time sequence of events occuring in refence to new furniture purchased and deliveries from seamans.

november 2001- ordered new furniture. aprox 3 weeks before delivery date. I needed furniture for christmas as a christmas gift. paid for delivery and taxes $180 on my credit card. given delivery date of 12/12/01

12/12/01 delivery cancelled by seamans and changed to delivery date of 12/22/01

12/22/01 damaged couch delivered (blood stain on couch and threading ripped) no love seat deliveried. delivery men stated loveseat and replacement couch would be deliveried in 1-2 days together. 12/23/01 or

12/24/01 (before christmas)

12/25/01 No deliveries before christmas and no calls

1/2/02 after several attemptos to contact seaman's customer assistance and warehouse, finally received a date of 1/12/02 for loveseat delivery only and date of 1/18/02 for couch delivery

1/12/02 loveseat delivered damaged ( wood on the bottom and legs damaged) Delivery men ran out quickly before I had a chance to look at love seat, despite asking them to remain until merchandise was inspected.

1/12/02---1/14/02 several attempts to contact seamans to notify of loveseat damage unsuccessful (run around and put on hold for extended periods of time)

1/14/02 finally got in touch with andrea from seamans customer service, I was told a new love seat would be delivered january 31,2002

1/18/02 delivery of replacement couch damaged also( all ripped on the bottom) furniture was inspected in the delivery truck before delivery and refused. I was advised to call seamans and I was given a date of 1/30/02 for couch delivery by delivery men

1/19/02 spoke with valerie about damaged couch and stated she would call back. no call back as of

1/23/2002

1/23/2002 now I have a damaged loveseat (bottom legs damaged) and a damaged couch (bloodstain and threading ripped) Delivery dates now scheduled 1/30/02 for couch and 1/31/02 loveseat

1/26/02--visted seamans and notified store manager of persistent problems with damaged delivery fo furniture, new date for delivery scheduled for feb 9, 2002 for both loveseat and couch together between 8am-2pm

2/9/02 acutual delivery was late 245pm. furniture was once again damaged, all legs are immproperly installed ( 1/2 sticking out on the loveseat and couch. couch also has a tear in the back

I am extremely unsatisfied and disappointed with seamans, now I still possess damaged furniture, I've spent hours on the phone trying to rectify this problem and I'm exhausted. I am tired of rescheduling deliveries for damaged furniture and I do not have the time to spend hours on the phone (an average of at least 1/2 hour hold times) I've been charged for taxes and delivery on my credit card for $180, at this point, I would like to have all the furniture picked up and a full refund; unless seamans can provide another solution to this problem.

I would like a letter to confirm a $180 refund on my credit card prior to any arrangement for a pick up date for the damaged furniture. I've attached copies of delivery receipts to show damages. I would prefer to do all transactions in writing , by mail. Once again, I do not have the time to spend hours on hold on the phone, please respond as soon as possible in writing, I would like to resolve this matter as soon as possible. This problem has been going on since 12/22/01. furniture delivery was scheduled and expected to arrive before christmas as a christmas gift. thank you in advance for assisting in this matter, Nancy Bombaro and address given

THIS IS STILL AN UNRESOLVED MATTER, SEAMANS WILL NOT PICK UP FURNITURE AND STATES THAT A REFUND IS NOT AN OPTION, ONLY REPAIR OR RESELECTION. THE FURNITURE WAS NOT EVEN PAID FOR YET ONLY TAXES AND DELIVERY, CHARGES FOR FURNITURE START IN 2003. THIS LETTER WAS WRITTEN FEB18,2002 AND SENT CERTIFIED TO THE CEO OF SEAMANS, I NEVER GOT A REPLY, BUT I STILL TRIED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM SINCE 4/11/02 I'VE BEEN TALKING TO SEAMANS VIA THE PRESIDENTIAL HOT LINE, STILL THEY WILL NOT PICK UP FURNITURE, I DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS ANYMORE AND I DO NOT WANT THE FURNITURE, 6 MONTHS IS A LONG TIME TO HAVE THIS UNRESOLVED.

THE ONLY E-MAIL FOR SEAMANS I COULD FIND WAS Email User I BOUGHT THE FURNITURE IN SEAMANS WAYNE, NEW JERSEY, THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS IN WOODBURY, NY
