Complaints.com received the following consumer message on May 13, 2002:

RE: Hotwire.com - charged twice for same ticket with same name, same flight - unable to get refund

 

I TRIED ORDERED A TICKET THROUGH HOTWIRE.COM FOR 7 MAY 2O02. WHEN I PUNCHED

IN THE CREDIT CARD INFO THEY TOLD ME IT WAS WRONG I WAITED FOR SOME MINUTES.

THEN I TRIED AGAIN. IT STILL WOULD NOT TAKE IT, FINALLY ON THE THIRD OR FORTH

TRY, IT TOOK THE CREDIT CARD. HOWEVER I WAS UNABLE TO MAKE THE FLIGHT AT THAT

TIME. SO I CONTACTED HOT-WIRE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I COULD NOT GET A REFUND

DUE TO THEIR CONTRACT. WHICH I TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD?

 

BUT ABOUT A WEEK OR TWO LATER I FOUND OUT THAT THEY CHARGE ME TWICE FOR THE SAME TICKET WITH SAME PERSON NAME ON GOING TO THE SAME PLACE. AND I THOUGHT THAT IS A FRAUD CONSUMER SHOULD NOT BE TREATED THAT WAY AND THEY SHOULD BE PROTECTED.

 

IS UN BELIEVABLE. THE FLIGHT WAS THROUGH AMERICAN AIRLINES AND THEY SAID THEY DON'T

HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE ADJUSTMENT OR CHANGES BUT HOT-WIRE SAYS THEY SHOULD

NOT MAKE AY ADJUSTMENTS OR CHANGES. I HOPE SOMEONE OUT THERE CAN HELP ME

FIGHT THIS CRIMINAL AND FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES PUT FOURTH BY THIS COMPANY.
