RE: Cabana Restaurant, Hobe Sound, FL - piece of glass in salad

On March 21, 2002, eight friends and family ate at the Cabana Restaurant in Hobe Sound, Florida. Whilst dining on his side salad, my husband discovered a piece of glass in it that was approx. 1" X 1/2." He mentioned this to our waiter who offered a meek "sorry." We expected someone of more authority to come over and apologize, but that didn't happen.

At the end of our meal, realizing that a representative of Cabana Restaurant was not going to come over, my husband sought out the most senior person (senior meaning in rank and in age) that he could find to relay his disappointment. That person offered another meek "sorry," the standard answer it seems for complaints at Cabana Restaurant.

We didn't expect to get a free meal, we had already used two Entertainment Book coupons, but we did expect an apology and concern on behalf of Cabana Restaurant knowing that finding a piece of glass in one of our salads, the eight of us would think twice about returning. Now, we will never return nor will anyone we know try their 'glass' salad.
