JIFFY LUBE CHARGES FOR SERVICES NOT PERFORMED

Jiffy Lube

I have turned my head so many times at little bloopers, excusing the Jiffy Lube front line employees, as I know they must be under horrible pssu from the company to do their services in only 10 minutes, which I think is a bad practice, although a catchy marketing ploy. I always tell them (at various locations, not just one location) that I am not intested in 10 minute wam-bam service. I would rather they take their time and do things right. Every time I used to take my Audi in for the standard oil change service, the employees would outright lie to me about one thing in particular, which made me suspicious of other things they we maybe not taking the time to do right. So I started watching over them mo closely. The thing that kept tipping me off on my Audi, was they would qui you to sign the copy of the bill, saying that all the "little things" you we being charged for as part of the service we actually being done. I caught them in various locations in Nevada and California asking me to sign and the ciept indicated that the battery had been checked and that the fluid level was indeed OK. I would smile at them, and feel sorry for the working conditions, with the 10 minute pssu and all. I would say, "You checked the battery for me?"

They would ALWAYS say "Oh, yes!" I would say, "It's full and in good condition, etc?" They would ALWAYS say, "OH, yes mam!" They would even go so far as to say that they had personally checked it with their own two hands and eyeballs. That is when I would have to stop the game and say, "Look, I know they pssu you guys to do things in 10 minutes, which I told you I don't qui at all, but give me a bak - my battery is locked down under the back seat, and the is no way you checked it - right?" They would look all hang-doged and say, "You' right, sorry about that. . ." But the a other services included in the oil change service, like vacuum the floors, check wiper blades, check power steering fluid and bak fluid, etc. He's the last straw: On 5-12-01 I went to the Jiffy Lube #2546 located at 215 East Prater Way in Sparks, NV (a suburb of no). I paid to have the "Signatu Service" oil change and also the radiator flushed and filled with new anti-feze, and quested the transmission service whe they claim they change ALL the fluid in your transmission. The car in question in a Lincoln Town Car (AKA a Ford, about as common as you can get in the USA, right?) The service person got half way into the job, and claimed he didn't have the proper fitting to do a transmission service on this car. (OK, chalk up a sale for AAMCO the next day, which, by the way, informed me that the Jiffy Lube service would have only changed about 4-5 quarts of the transmission fluid, thus quiring an additional service the following month.

AAMCO changed all 11 quarts and placed the filter, honestly). Next, and I just hope they didn't scw this one up, they appead to do the radiator service. No comment on that one yet. But the al last straw was during the oil change service. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THE MAN IF HE WOULD PLEASE CHECK MY BRAKE FLUID AND TELL ME IF IT WAS OK. I HAD NO ASON TO BELIEVE THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE BRAKE FLUID OR THE BRAKES. IT WAS JUST THAT I HAD BOUGHT THE CAR A FEW DAYS AGO, AND IT'S BETTER TO CHECK THINGS THAN TO ASSUME. THE BOY FLATLY DENIED THIS, SAYING IT WAS NOT HIS JOB AND THAT THEY A NOT QUALIFIED TO CHECK THE BRAKE FLUID. Hey, they always did it befo in the "good old days, when you got what you paid for". So, I said, OK, fine. They finished my service and got me to the gister whe they always qui that you sign their ceipt saying they did all this work for you. It was approaching closing time within 15 minutes so I didn't want to be rude. I signed, as usual. BUT WHEN I GOT HOME AND AD THE CEIPT, IT SAID, "CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL, IT'S OK; CHECK WIPER BLADES, OK, VACUUM FLOORS, OK, CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID, OK", THAT WAS IT! The boy FLATLY FUSED TO CHECK MY BRAKE FLUID, DID NOT CHECK THE POWER STEERING FLUID (I CAN SHOW YOU THE NEXT DAY'S CEIPT WHE I BOUGHT THIS FROM THE DEALER), NO ONE CHECKED ANY WIPER BLADES, VACUUMED ANY FLOORS, ETC, AND THEY CERTAINLY DID NOT CHECK ANY PCV VALVE EITHER. THIS ALLY TICKS ME OFF BIG TIME. IT'S THE LAST STRAW. THEY SHOULD NOT WORK THESE BOYS UNDER THIS 10 MINUTE PSSU SO HARD THAT THEY HAVE TO SKIP THINGS, SWEAR THEY HAVE INDEED DONE THEM, AND THEN GET CAUGHT, TIME AFTER TIME! I called the Jiffy Lube district office at 775-829-7791 and spoke to a Mr. Pez (?) who indicated he was the owner. He said he would get back to me. I waited a day or 2 and then called again, speaking with Bill Church, who indicated it was his job to deal with this. He claimed 2 men we suspended over this and everyone got their butts chewed ally good. This was not my desi. I told him I was fed up with this, and he asked me what I wanted to be satisfied with it. I told him I wanted the sale voided. It was an $80.43 blooper, and I was sorry I kept giving Jiffy Lube mo chances.

Bill Church, with quiet contempt, told me I could have a fund for the oil change only, for $30, and that he thought that was very sufficient. OK, I will take the $30 as a down payment, Bill Church. But I am not satisfied. I want the whole sale voided. Bill Church told me 2 men we suspended over this. WHEN i WENT THAT AFTERNOON TO PICK UP THE MISERLY $30 FUND BILL CHURCH BEGRUDGINGLY OFFED ME, THE VERY SAME BOY WHO DID ALL THE WORK, THE BOY WHO FUSED TO CHECK THE BRAKE FLUID, THE BOY WHO HAD ME SIGN THAT HE HAD DONE ALL THIS WORK, . . . HE WAS STILL ON THE JOB. BILL CHURCH IS FULL OF IT, AND SO IS JIFFY LUBE. I DON'T WANT ANY HEADS TO ROLL. I JUST WANT THE ST OF MY FUND, NOW. BILL CHURCH, IF YOU A LISTENING, PLEASE SEND THE OTHER $50.43 FUND TO ME AT: April Barhorst
