RE: 1997 Dodge Ram Sport - transmission failed at 78,000 miles - $ 2,700 cost to replace

i have a 1997 dodge ram sport, i have a problem with the transmission well i had it for a while, and the dealer i got it off said there is nothing wrong with it. i have 78,000 miles on it i don't think at all that the trans, should go. it doesn't move now it is costing me $2700.00 to get fixed!!! the dealer is vito Rinaldi in Shenadoah pennsylvania.

there are alot of people with the same problem as me with the transmissions so if there is so many complaints why isn't there a recall??? i hope this letter hits a lot of people with the same problem as i have, so maybe there can be something done.

zak zak: I have the same deal. 1997 dodge 1500 4x4 transmision replaced at 86,000 miles now 145,000 needs to be replaced again. Along with oil sump clogging, u-joints, radiator line connectotrs wont stay tight. Rear end fell apart AND this truck has never been abused. My 1988 toyota with 300,000+ miles that is constantly abused in in better mechanical shape. The durability of this big fancy truck has been a real disappointment and a bigger expence. Costing more to fix than it is worth. You may see the whole thing on ebay for parts. as it won't pass NC State inspection due to headlight switch failure and DTC for transmission shift from 3-4.

I'm forced to park it. . . . .
