RE: MSN - 3 year contact with new computer purchased in 1999 - contact didn't expire due to not calling MSN to cancel - ongoing billing problems

Once again another MSN complaint. In 1999 my husband and I purchase a new computer and signed up to MSN for our discount.

The contract was for 3 years and was suppose to expire in December 2002. I paid the last payment in December and just found out today that my old MSN was not finished because the excuse was that I didn't call which I did back in November and January and had told them that I no longer want it and to stop billing me for it. Also in December started on the new MSN 2 for one year.

I called MSN and told them that I would like to pay for my monthly service by my ATM Bank card. It took three phone calls to finally get them to take my bank card number down correctly.

In January, I was bill twice for MSN and had to call again to my credit card company which was stopped back in November and tell them that they are no longer to use my credit card. Also to my surprise I was charged twice for MSN 2 on my credit card and my ATM card. So I called MSN again in January and spoke to a Debbie who apologized and said I could have it for one month free in February. This morning as I was reading my e-mail, MSN decided to tell me that I owe for February and that they will cut me off. So once again I called MSN and talked to a Renee and she said that I was still under the old MSN and was being billed until I let them know that I am canceling it.

Also to my horror, even though I canceled my payment through my credit card, it would take around 3-4 months to stop it. She also said I could not have a free month. I finally got aggravated and talked to her supervisor, Esther and she said the same thing. I was by then furious and called Microsoft in Wash. State and told them about the situation.

Of course I'll probrably will never hear from them and along with faxing the info to them, they have probably trashed all the info. Anyone who has had a bad experience, the telephone number to microsoft is 1-425-882-8080. There address is Microsoft 1 Way Redmond Seattle Wash. 98052-8300. I am going to send them the copies of my statement from the bank and credit card company, sign receipt requested. At least if they try to take legal action against me, I have proof that they were contacted.
