RE: Ford F 250 diesel - purchased a lemon of a truck
I recently purchased a used truck from Sean Currier of of kalispell Montana under the impression that it was in fine running order. He started up the Ford F 250 diesel for me and let me take it around for a spin.
Since it was running ok and I'd repeatedly asked him if there were any mechanical problems, which he assured me the only thing it needed was for the A/C unit to be recharged, I gave him the asking price: 2500.00$After I drove it home however, I checked the dipstick and found that it was dry!
So I added a few quarts.Unfortuneatly I coudn't restart it. So I called Sean up and asked him what was wrong. He assured me that the block heater needed to be plugged in so that the engine was warm before I tried starting it.That didnt work, so he told me that the truck needed to be pulled and have the clutch popped into gear to "jump start" it.
Obviously I wasn't happy but he said his mechanic would look at it & fix it.I decided to tow it to a mechanic & get an "unbiased" opinion. He checked it out and found that the engine needed an overhaul! The compression was so low that it wouldnt run! So I told Sean this but he still hasn't called back. I guess I'm out 2500.00$. Wm Schultz
I took it to a mechanic and he said " it needs a rebuild". I called Sean and told him and he said, "huh...I think its an air leak".
Later I told him he could refund my money or I'd take him to small claims court (a bluff since I cannot afford it), he said, "I'll call you back..." Ive not heard from him and don't really expect to.
