Tivo - sent in rebate Nov., 2002 - still haven't received rebate - told by 'rebate center' that UPC was missing so rebate would be denied</font> <p><font size="2" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Tivo is trying to cheat me out of a $50 rebate.</font>< Complaints.com received the following on March 28, 2003:

I sent in the rebate info at the end of 11/02 allowing 6-8 weeks. At the beginning of 2/03 I emailed Tivo inquiring about my rebate. They replied on 2/16/03 with the rebate center website. I checked the website which said my rebate info was received and I'd have my rebate within 4 weeks. Checked the website again on 3/28/03 the website now said that "... something was missing from my rebate info, a letter was sent on 1/21/03 stating what was missing..." (Remember, in Feb the website said everything is fine ... in March the website says a letter was sent in Jan.) Called the rebate center, they said the UPC was missing (of course I have a copy but they don't accept copies). They suggested I call Tivo. Called Tivo, they said "Yes, you purchased your Tivo from us ... Yes, you have an account with us ... Yes, you qualify for the rebate ... No, there is nothing we can do to help." They suggested I call the rebate center. Keep in mind every Tivo has a unique ID and dials into Tivo daily. Everyday, Tivo confirms exactly what machine I have, exactly where it was purchased, that I qualify for a rebate, etc. -- but still won't honor it. They advertise a $50 rebate but have no intention of honoring it for me.
