On the Friday of Labour Day weekend 2002 my wife decided that she would like some popcorn chicken. The only reason that we chose Kentucky Fried Chicken that night was my wife's craving for some popcorn chicken. We ordered at 6pm and were given a 45 minute to an hour window of waiting time by the person at the central call centre.
An hour later we were called by the nearest location who told us that they had just received our order from the call centre. They offered us a two liter of Pepsi to compensate us for our wasted hour. They told us to wait another hour. Another hour passes and our order has still not arrived. Our kids are past hungry so we have to cook them supper.
We call the call centre and they tell us to be patient. They say that they have no control over the situation and can't help us.
Our order finally arrives half an hour later. I pay the delivery driver and bring the food into the kitchen. I start dishing out our food and checking the order. There is no popcorn chicken.
We call the call centre again and they offer us a credit towards our next order. That is not enough. We want the popcorn chicken.
Another hour passes and the driver shows up with a bag of popcorn chicken that is not even warm to the touch. We call the call centre again and they say that because they are a call centre there is nothing that they can do. I log on to Kentucky Fried Chicken's website and enter my complaint in 1000 characters or less. Over six months have passed and I have not received a response. I will not ever buy anything from that place again as long as I live. I have eaten fried chicken a few times in the past six months from other restaurants, and every time I think about 'that time when we ordered from KFC.' I have told everyone of my friends. I will not allow anyone to order it or to eat it near me. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Sunday, 30-Mar-03 00:00:00 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
