RE: AOL - receiving e-mail messages to account, but AOL is sending error message back to sender, telling sender message was not received when it was received I cancelled my AOL account long ago. I was successful upon my first call only because I was extremely adamant that I didn't wish for any free months of service, I just wanted my service to stop. And it did.
However, when I had an AOL account, I had messages from another account that I didn't use as often forwarded to it. Now that I rely on this account exclusively, each time someone sends me an email, AOL sends them a message saying that I didn't receive the email, even though I did.
This results in a number of frustrations on the part of both myself and the party sending the message. When I called AOL customer service, each of the four people I spoke with acted confused and proceeded to transfer my call somewhere else.
Eventually I was told that they were sorry, there was just nothing that could be done about this situation. This is completely unacceptable, and I for one am astonished that a company with such horrible policies and customer service is still in business.
