RE: Magic Chef glass top stove and oven - replaced burner element twice - replaced oven element twice - wire melted during oven cleaning

I own a Magic Chef glass top stove and oven. Have replaced a burner element twice. Okay, normal wear and tear. Have replaced on/off heat selector knobs, also. Again, normal wear and tear. Have replaced oven element twice. I am still very happy with the appliance. Now the problem.

After last use of selecting oven clean, the oven would not heat past 90 degrees so I thought another element was needed. Wrong, wire at back of stove had MELTED.

Had the wire not melted, there could have been a fire. This is not acceptable. Magic Chef will probably not do anything with this complaint but at least I feel better. Will I purchase another Magic Chef range -- even though I love the stove, NO.

The old Sears brand in the garage is still the backup when this range is out of commission. It does not work nearly as well but it is still the dependable one.
