I bought my Tappan Range from Nebraska Furniture Mart in January 1994. I had to have the oven ingnition replaced on August 2, 1999 - and the gas connector replaced July 19, 2001. June 2002, the Black Glass on the canopy totally shattered --- the stove was not in use at the time and had not been all day --
It just exploded in zillions of tiny bits -- I have tried and tried to get a replacement of the Black glass from the company and the answer I get is that they do not have that part. After many calls I was told that Tappan would give me $100.00 toward aa new stove.
I do not have the money to buy another stove and am very upset. I think tappan should replace the stove as this should never have happened.
The stove has never been abused and has had good care. Now I am having trouble with the oven not lighting again.
I bought the stove because it was attractive and I like some of the features about it but now it looks very unattractive with the canopy and the controls exposed. Also the switch for the canopy light fell to the back of the stove and cannot be turned on. Is there anything that can be done about this???
