RE: Prudential home owners insurance - ongoing trouble with roof leak claim

To Whom It May Concern

I am a PRUDENTIAL home owners policy holder, Have been for 9 yrs. I am writing because I have a complaint of the way my homeowners claim has been handled....I called an adjuster out to my house in DEC 2002, Who in return for me placed a claim to prudential, the week I called my adjuster out for the claim he went on my roof and put many tarps on it so my roof would not leak, as for it had 5 leaks all around my family room roof from holes. So my adjuster told me!!! Which he also took pictures of.

It was solid water proof not one leak considering I had holes on the roof, I was very satisfied. Well, sometime in the end of Jan or beginning of Feb, someone from PRUDENTIAL called and asked if they could come and look on the roof, It was pouring raining out. I said fine but what for? its raining and I don't want you lifting any tarps up because its bone dry here in my house.

He said "fine"......15 minutes later here comes this roofer from PRUDENTIAL, goes up on my roof and all of a sudden I hear banging away and banging away..... he comes down and says can I see inside looks inside and takes a picture and leaves, MY inside of my house began to leak as soon as he left. Every part that was leaking previously began to leak again the water traveled and started to make MORE damage in the ceiling., So I call my adjuster who called PRUDENTIAL, I waited and waited for 3 weeks NO one comes to fix my roof or tarp it. I call my adjuster and asked him to just get a settlement for my roof it needs to be fix because it's leaking every time it rains all over my family room I have buckets all over and it stinks and it just a BIG mess, he called me back and told me PRUDENTIAL did not want to fix my roof, because supposedly the LYING MAN who went on my roof in the pouring rain and lifted the tarp said it was wear and tear....

I called PRUDENTIAL and talked to a Mr. Charlie Conte and asked him why no one has been at my house to throw a tarp up there or fix it ,since PRUDENTIAL made it worse. He said I should have called earlier when it happened.......meanwhile I did call my adjuster 5 minutes after PRUDENTIAL'S ROOFER left, who in return called PRUDENTUIAL and they didn't send anyone out...Even after I talked to Mr. Conte NO ONE from prudential ever came out to fix my roof or even call to say someone would be out to HELP me.....

I did ask Mr. Conte how could a roof be wear and tear with holes in it.....and only 9yrs old.I also had many things that were ruined that I did NOT claim, Stupid me....needless to say he had all the answers. I never did FIGHT for my roof, I decided to settle for the claim that PRUDENTIAL was giving me for the damaged walls/rugs/ceiling which I will not be fixing because of the DAMAGE that PRUDENTIAL had made worse in the room, I will be only fixing the roof and ceiling with the money I received from PRUDENTIAL.

I am HIGHLY UNSATISFIED with the TREATMENT and the OUTCOME that PRUDENTIAL has given me, I have been a holder for 9 yrs and have 6 family members who are PRUDENTIAL HOLDERS car insurance included, I have told all of them about the way I have UNFAIRLY been treated by PRUDENTIAL and to BEWARE of the bad treatment that PRUDENTIAL has given me. I will be seeking a NEW insurance holder for my home owners , Someone who will respect people who are HONEST and reliable.

Sincerely, Meta Wolk
