RE: Airborne Express - overnight shipment to Canada wasn't delivered on time
Airborne Express has got to be the worst Overnight Delivery service in the world, in my experience. I used to use Airborne Express as my regular delivery service. I found the pickup driver to be extremely rude. Another time I needed cpus for an extremely important project. I needed the cpus overnighted to me so that I could send them overnight to Canada with some motherboards.
The cpus had to be inserted and packaged with the motherboards. I was overnighting to Canada via UPS so early afternoon delivery was crucial. I called Airborne every hour to find out the status. The cpus were not delivered until the afternoon (2 days later). I have never dealt with a company so clueless, and so inept. I had to pay for shipping to Canada twice. My client could not believe how incompetent Airborne Express was. I still can not believe it. By the way, the weather was a balmy 70 degrees all three days.
Airborne kept claiming that the package was left at the terminal by mistake. I asked a manager why someone could not go back to the terminal and deliver it. The manager said that he would try his best. The 2nd day it was on the van, but never delivered. On the third day, it was finally delivered by another driver. As a business, I thought my customers were getting reliable 2 day delivery. I think the post office is more reliable than Airborne. I doubt if I will ever use them again. -- Ed Power / Computer Headaches
