RE: Atlantis Hotel Bahamas, Nassau - poor service experiences
Based on my experience: the entrance to the hotel is fabulous. Everything else however is not. The rooms are run down and dirty. Most of the staff has an almost, in the true definition of the word, poor attitude towards tourists. No one really seems to care if they do there job right or at all.
The source of many of the problems with the hotel I had seems to be the employees. For example having to wait 15 minutes for a waiter and then refilling my drink myself. Having to make a noise complaint about the guests next to me twice daily. The list goes on. I think the whole time I was there I only ran into probably 3 employees that were kind to me. I doubt this letter will do any good, but its worth a try. -M www.atlantis.com does not seem to have a corporate office email address. Here is a physical address if that helps...

True, when you enter the lobby, it is magnificant. Afterwards, it is downhill from there. The rooms were decent; however the service was horrible. The staff is rude and they seem very unhappy, which is really sad. I asked for more towels in my room and housekeeping asked me "how many showers do I plan on taking?" They felt that three towels in enough for the day for three people. I explained that we like to take a shower in the morning and after the beach and we got a nasty face and the extra towels were thrown at us. I complained to the front desk and they told me that we would have extra towels daily. I had to call for extra towels anyway because they forgot and I would have to wait 2 hours. The last time I called I explained to housekeeping that I called two and a half hours ago and I am still waiting for towels and she replied, "NO...YOU DID NOT CALL 2 AND A HALF HOURS AGO, YOU CALLED 15 MINUTES AGO." I replied are you calling me a liar?" She replied, "I guess so!" The room as a looked a little closer was very dusty and the clock and fixtures had dust caked onto them. Completely nasty. Oneday, housekeeping left us one washcloth. I called housekeeping again and again everyday for something. The minibar is disgusting! First of all everything is lukewarm and when I opened a cranberry juice it had mold around the rim--NASTY!I was sick of complaining and getting nowhere. I did receive complimentary fruit, which you know what they can do with that. Also, we did receive $200 credit for all the issues, but it just was not enough considering how much money you pay to stay there, plus food and beverage costs are ridiculous. A family of three costs $75.00 for breakfast, $150.00 for lunch and well over $200.00 for dinner a day. I suggest you go over the bridge and eat at Outback or Senor Frogs (very friendly service and good food). I took my 8 year-old swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Cay for $120 per person and we did not swim with the dolphins. This was another opportunity for the Atlantis to make money on photos as well as "pimping" these poor dolphins. My dolphin Atlas was too tired to even take pictures because our booking was at the end of the day. The only positive thing about the trip was the weather was great and I have an awesome tan, but that was it. They have bad, expensive food, poor service, dirty rooms, and no managers to whom you can protest. They will add huge hidden fees to your bill, such as a $33 per day maid gratuity and the maid will not clean your room, You will pay $18 per day for enery surcharge, $75/day in "taxes" and a $50 day administrative charge!!!!. Your room will not be ready for at least 5 hours after you get there, there are no towels at the pool, there are angry third word staffers who leer at you and talk about their sex lives and drug "parties" loudly and freely, there are lines for everything, the pool will be filled with drunken cruise passengers who pay for a day pass and none of whom ever to seem to use the bathrooms after drinking all day in the pool. Our daughter got an eye infection from the pool and we had to go to a third world hospital. There is a lot of marble and bling but that is all they have to offer. DO NOT GO!!!!!
