On October 2, 2002 I purchased a Motorola cell phone (model #v60t) from Cingular. There was a $50 rebate available w/that purchase. I submitted all things required the next day (10/3/02). On my rebate form, it said "Please allow 8-10 weeks for fullfillment of valid rebate requests".

 

I waited beyond the 8-10 weeks. On 1/16/03 when I still did not receive my rebate I contacted Cingular's rebate dpt.(1-888-390-6862) and spoke to Judith. She told me that she agreed it had taken too long and I should have gotten it by then. She said that she was going to "resubmit" it and I should get the rebate check in 4-6 weeks. (now, from 1/16/03)

 

On 2/24/03 I still had not received my rebate so I again called Cingular's rebate dpt. I spoke to Chris. He apologized for it taking this long and said that he would put a "rush" on it and I should receive it with 1 1/2 - 2 weeks (from 2/24/03).

 

As expected, the 2 weeks have passed and I AGAIN called the Cingular rebate dpt. on 3/11/03. I spoke to Steve this time. I told him the whole story, he put me on hold. When he came back to the phone he told me "Chris was incorrect when he told you 1 1/2 - 2 weeks, it will be 4-6 weeks until you receive your rebate from the time Chris put it in". I told him that was unacceptable, I keep getting a run around and I want to speak to a supervisor.

 

Sarcastically he put his supervisor Pamela on the phone. She pretty much parroted what Steve just told me(it's going to be another 4-6 weeks before I receive my rebate). She said "didn't you read your rebate information? It says that you must remain active for 30 consecutive days following the date of purchase to be eligible. We had to wait the 30 days". I told her that I did read that and even waiting the 30 days I should have had my rebate well before now. She just kept repeating herself saying "4-6 weeks." She did admit to me that Cingular received my rebate info on 10/10/02.

 

It has now been 5 months since I purchased my phone.....it should NOT take that long to receive a rebate. I told here that waiting this long is unacceptable and I want the rebate check sent out immediately.
