RE: Tivo with DirecTV - 10 month new unit failed - waiting 5 months so far for unit to be repaired under warranty At the end of September 2002, 10 months into its life, my TiVo with DirecTV unit failed. I called Hughes customer service and was told to send the unit in for warranty repair/replacement. At the time Hughes estimated I'd receive my repaired unit in 6 to 8 weeks. Five months later not only do I not have the unit, Hughes refuses to even give me a commitment about when the unit will be returned. Needless to say I'm quite unhappy, but at a loss as to what to do next. DirecTV has been no help at all -- as a direct consequence I've cancelled my DirecTV service. I would, however, like to have the my TiVo unit back. Is there anyone else out there with this problem? I'd like to know.
