RE: Whirpool Over the Range Microwave - uneven food cooking - overcooks food placed in center - undercooks food not in center
I purchased an over the range microwave oven at Best Buy, manufactured by Whirlpool. I have had nothing but trouble since I got it in my home. It burns food exactly in the middle of the microwave, and undercooks everything else. 30 second bacon is burnt to dust in the middle and raw on the edges. Popcorn is 1/3 popped with the middle of the bag burnt.
Water boils after 3 minutes in the middle, never anywhere else. 1st time I called Whirlpool they sent out service tech who contacted their tech help line and was told to not put food in the middle of the microwave. 2nd service tech was told to replace the magnetron, (didn't\ help) 3rd tech was again told to advise me not to place food in the middle of the microwave.
The microwave is designed to send all waves directly to the center. So it is not a flaw in the machine it is designed to burn anything directly in the middle so they will not replace the machine or give me my money back.
I don\'to recall the box or instructions advising me that this microwave will burn anything place at the center of the appliance. Originally I thought that I would like to have the microwave replaced, but I sure don't want it replaced with another microwave designed to burn food.
