MCI is Terrible! - serious, ongoing billing issues - mistakenly shut off phone line several times
Complaints.com received the following consumer message on March 6, 2002:

MCI is Terrible! - serious, ongoing billing issues - mistakenly shut off phone line several times
MCI is the worst company out there. Their customer service is terrible and they have some serious billing issues. When you get a nice customer service rep, after waiting on hold for 45 minutes, some are likely to tell you the truth about their company.
One rep told me that they know that there are billing problems, but they aren't even able to contact the billing department directly to rectify the issues.
They have to fax everything to a billing inquiry unit. Because I was calling about a payment that I had made with my bank card visa on 1/25/02 (I called it in), which to this date 3/6/02 still has not posted to my account, I was told by this rep that other people are waiting months to get their payments posted by check. I faxed the payment inquiry unit 3 times, with no resolve.
As a result of them claiming that they have not been paid, they disconnected my phone 2 times! I need my phone, so yesterday, I just cancelled both of my accounts with them. I have since gotten Visa directly involved and am considering writing the BBB.
Another rep told me that MCI uses other carriers (ATT, Verizon) since they do not have their very own cellular lines, they are the middleman so to speak. So I ask you, why go with them?
