Get a receipt for returned videos! Hardly anyone does this, but without a receipt you're vulnerable not only for unfair late fees but charges for "lost" tapes as well. At an Everett Washington Blockbuster (on Everett Mall Way) I was charged a $7 late fee and $15 for a tape I returned on time. Without a receipt I had no way of proving I'd returned the tape. Now a collection agency is after me for the $22.
Think about this: if you rented say 5 movies, Blockbuster could claim none of them were returned, and you'd be paying through the nose. The irony is, I used to average renting 10 videos a month from that specific store. Now I rent nothing. The money they've lost with my business will cost them far more than $22.
