1994 Mazda MPV - motor replaced at 85,000 KM

We purchased our Mazda MPV in 1994 new. It has been a very reliable vehicle till last year. At 80,000 k.m. the water pump went at a cost of 850.00$ Mazda was good enough to offset the cost with a goodwill offering of $300.00.

This year with approximately 85,000 k.m. one of our pistons went, resulting in replacing the whole motor at a cost of $3500.00. We regularly maintained our vehicle at the same Mazda dealership. Mazda will not offer any compensation since it is passed its' warranty.

The dealership stated that perhpas it was linked to the water pump last year. What kind of company will not stand behind its' own product? Frustrated customer.
