1999 Ford Explorer - bumpiness felt when accelerating
I own a 1996 Explorer and a 1999 Explorer, which will be my last one. My 1996 has performed well, has 93,000 miles, and feels like a solid vehicle.
My 1999 is another story. For a $30,000 vehicle, it rides like a piece of junk. My biggest complaint is the bumpiness felt when accelerating, which is supposedly due to the automatic 4-wheel drive always being ready to take over (at least that is what I am told).
I had warranty work done on it, but the final answer was "this is the best we can do". The best I can do is never buy another Ford product, and spread the word to as many people as I know.
