Millennia Series Dacor double Ovens and Hood - bracket weld broke, poor experience with repair

In August of 2001 I purchased Millennia Series Dacor double Ovens and Hood.

The metal trim post "side molding" on which the mounting bracket for the oven vent fell off shortly after installation.

The weld holding the brecket had come apart. I e-mailed Dacor and there was no response.

I called and was given the name of a local service company who showed up 45 min late on the first visit.

The same service tech was 30 min late on the second visit. The service tech had a cell phone but did not feel it was necessary to call. So in total I waited over 10 hours in two days.

I returned to work after waiting over four hours during the second trip to install the part.

I contacted Dacor and was advised by Dacor that Dacor has "no control" over its contracted service techs.

I was advised to go to another service company by the local Dacor representative.

In January I located another Dacor authorized repair depot and it is now almost April and the part has still not arrived.

I wrote a letter to Dacor's customer service and the President. I did not receive a response from either.

I contacted the second Dacor service center today 03-25-02 an the part had still not come in.

In conclusion Dacor will not respond to e-mails, letters and the Dacor field reps do not follow up on consumer complaints.
