Worldwide Camera shop in McAlpin Square on Abercorn Street in Savannah, Georgia Today is February 20, 2002 I went into to the Worldwide Camera shop in McAlpin Square on Abercorn Street in Savannah, Georgia. I went looking for assistance at price on some cameras and buying some items. I had never been in the store before today. Trust me I will never return there for anything. I have some rare cameras and wanted to date and purchase (if possible) film for them. The lady that waited on me seemed knowledgable but she was rude and disrespective.
A man came in wanting passport pictures taken, she walked off without and excuse me a moment. Then a female customer entered the store and the lady clerk asked her did she her picture in the hall, they were experimenting with customers prints, and then she walked out into the hall with other lady again without an excuse me or anything. I felt this to very rude to a potential customer. She had no idea that if I wanted to buy $200.00 worth of merchandise or not. But that is not important, the point is she made me feel that I was not important enough to not walk off.
When I returned home I called the store and talked to the manager. His response was he already knew what happened, that I was too sensitive and he didn't want to hear my version of what happened. Before I get to far, when I left I did tell the clerk never mind just forget it but was not rude. Then my husband came in for lunch and I told him what happened so he called to the corporate office number. He talked to the same man I did and was told; Your wife is too sensitive and she should get a life and did my husband want to go down there and fight about it.
The man was just as rude as his wife (the person) that was assistanting me. They are the owners. I don't know how they have stayed in business as long as they have if they treat potential customers the way I was treated. I asked a few customers that come to where I work what would they would do if they went a business (I didn't mention where I had been) and recieved the same treatment I got. They said they would feel the clerk was rude and would walk out.
Which just what I did. I will be have a local tv station do an interview with me in front of this business. They have mistreated the wrong person. I hope that I can stop any further unpleasant visits to this company for anyone else.
